Soccer fans from every corner of the planet are descending on the tri-state for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the New York / New Jersey area is hosting an absolutely stacked lineup. MetLife Stadium will play host to eight matches in total—five group-stage games, two knockout rounds, and the FIFA World Cup Final on July 19, 2026. Yes, the Final. In our backyard. The National Weather Service has a heat advisory in effect across the NYC metro for the opening stretch of the tournament, with feels-like temps pushing into the high 90s.
